Join us for an evening of international storytelling at Stanley, with films from Geronimo Tanoira, Carlos Velandia, Borja Santomé, and Pablo Radice.

Moving between Super 8, found cinematic imagery, hand-painted analogue animation and documentary portraiture, the four films consider how identity is shaped by what surrounds us: the geometry of the built environment as it displaces organic form, the cinematic gaze that instructs us how to look and be looked at, the subconscious terrain of dreams and memory, and an understanding of personhood constituted through land, ancestors and community.

Together they echo the exhibition’s proposition that the self is not a fixed essence hidden beneath appearances, but a relational and continual process of becoming.

There will be a short intermission, with a run time no more than 90 min.
